Ryanair Considering Check-In Luggage Ban
Thursday 31st July 2008The low-cost carrier Ryanair are rumoured to be considering banning checked-in luggage on some of their flights as a direct result of an announcement of an 85% drop in profits.
Ryanair have been considering only allowing hand-luggage on some flights that will operate on some morning and midweek routes. These routes would appear to be mainly used by business travellers. Ryanair have confirmed however that despite their policy of encouraging passengers to travel with just hand luggage the rule change would target mainly business travellers.
Despite Ryanair suffering a dramatic slump in profits they are putting a brave face on the situation, with boss Micheal O'Leary even seeming pleased that the fuel rises potentially knocking out some of the smaller airlines in competition with Ryanair.
