Illegal Searches Taking Place At Gatwick Airport

Wednesday 12th December 2007

It has been uncovered by ministers that police have carried out many hundreds of illegal searches at Gatwick Airport in September 2007. Due to paperwork errors the police failed to gain the correct paperwork to allow the searches to take place which it is reported also took place in 2003.

Currently an investigation is taking place into how this could have occured whilst hundreds of letters are being sent to the individuals who were stopped and searched illegally.
