MP Accuses Heathrow Consultation Process

Friday 25th July 2008

A Labour MP has accused the Heathrow Airport consultation process of being based upon evidence that was 'doctored'.

MP John McDonnell accused the government of working with BAA (British Airports Authority) in pushing through the expansion of Heathrow Airport resulting in a third runway being constructed. He has spoken out against the development of the airport on the grounds that it would cause significant pollution. Mr. McDonnell has called for a public enquiry on the statement he has made and would like evidence on the matter that was examined in a BBC Panorama programme investigated.
