Co-Op Travel Agents Reject Third Heathrow Runway Proposals
Thursday 24th July 2008
The campaign against a proposed third runway at Heathrow Airport gathered more steam today as Co-Op Travel became the first travel agency to speak out against a third runway at Heathrow Airport.
The travel agency have a strategy that centres on sustainable tourist activities as well as responsible travelling activities and have stated that they would prefer to see regional airports developed rather than major international hubs such as Heathrow.
Co-Op Travel have made significant steps already to make travel through them as green as possible by offering free carbon offsetting for all passengers who book a flight-inclusive holiday at £45 or under. Passengers that book with Co-Op Travel are also encouraged to make a £1 donation to the Travel Foundation which helps support sustainable tourism.
