Ryanair Announce Airport Cut-Backs
Friday 18th July 2008Low-cost airline Ryanair are to close bases at seven European airports, as well as reducing flight numbers operating from Stansted Airport, as they seek to reduce costs in the wake of the current fuel price crisis.
The reason for the cutbacks has been laid squarely by Ryanair at the door of the airports, as they claim high operating costs that the airline encounter at airports such as Basel, Budapest, Krakow, Palma, Rzeszow, Salzburg and Valencia make running flights in the current climate impossible for them. Coupled with the surging price of oil these airports have apparently been approached by Ryanair regarding their costs but the airline has not been able to come to an agreement with them.
Ryanair's plans for cut-backs at Stansted and Dublin have also been unveiled by the airline which we have covered in a previous article on Compare Airport Parking.
