Etihad Airways Announce Aircraft Order
Monday 14th July 2008Etihad Airways are to nearly double their fleet of aircraft after they made a $9 billion order for 45 Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow.
The total aircraft order is for 35 Boeing 787's and 10 Boeing 777's. They have also got an option on 25 more Boeing 787's and 10 Boeing 777's. As well as this it has purchased the rights for 10 Boeing 787's and five Boeing 777's.
The first of the aircraft are due to be delivered in 2011 and deliveries are set to continue until the last aircraft is delivered in 2020. This will add to their current fleet of airliners which totals 38.
