Heathrow Airport Open Brand New Fire Station
Monday 14th July 2008Heathrow Airport have opened a brand new airport fire station with state-of-the-art technology that has replaced the current building that is now thirty years old.
The old fire station is to be demolished due to the construction of the Heathrow East Terminal with the brand new fire station that was constructed at a cost of £4 million and is located close to the 27R runway. This brand new fire station is to run in conjunction with the airports other fire station which can be found very close to Terminal 5.
The brand new fire station will house 108 fire officers as well as a lecture room and five bays for fire fighting equipment. There will also be study areas at the new station. The new station has everything that the airports needs for modern day fire fighting at an airport such as Heathrow and has been located in an area specifically in order to ensure that response times for any incident are as little as possible.
