Myleene Klass To Assist In Launch Ceremony Of Carnival Splendour

Thursday 10th July 2008

Dover Port saw the largest ship to ever sail into the port arrive this morning with celebrity musician Myleene Klass giving a performace to mark the occasion.

The Carnival Splendour cruise ship arrived at 6am this morning and will see The Royal Navy working together with Myleene Klass in a performance that is sure to wow the crowds. The ceremony will see 4,914 passengers assemble at lunchtime where Myleene Klass will perform Handel's Water Music on a baby grand piano.

Whilst she plays the piece she will send a signal to a Royal Navy diver that is led by Lt. Ian Richardson and PO Christian Rumming who will then let out some air from the diving tanks he is wearing and then climb up a 60ft rope and smash a bottle against the Carnival Splendours name that is located on the ships bow.

The celebrations will continue at 5pm when an event similar to a carnival will take place on the Prince of Wales Pier.
