Two Polish Women Stranded In Scotland After Online Scam
Monday 12th November 2007Two Polish women who replied to an online advert to start a new life in the UK were abandoned in Scotland and left speaking little English with no money or food.
The two women replied to an advert on a Polish website offering a new life in the UK with housing paid for at an agreed rate. The women flew into Glasgow Prestwick Airport and were met by an unknown woman who escorted them to her car. They were driven to an address not far away and when they were not looking the woman and her driver sped off leaving them stranded.
They were assisted by a Polish man to contact the police who found the driver named Lucas Zylinski and his vehicle. Zylinski has admitted fraud and theft and will be sentenced. Wioletta Stepien was also charged with assisting the fraud however was found not guilty.
