Drug Dealer Caught By Blackpool Airport Sniffer Dogs

Thursday 6th December 2007

A drug dealer who used Blackpool Airport to smuggle cocaine and amphetamines into the country has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Gerard Davies Hambleton smuggles drugs through the airport to the value of at least £50,000 while a further £36,000  was found in a safe at his sisters house when it was searched.  A hydraulic press was also discovered at Hambletons house that police believe was used for the packaging of drugs for distribution or transportation.

Hambleton was first noticed when sniffer dogs alerted security at the airport when he arrived from a trip to Spain. Inside his wash bag officials discovered a quantity of amphetamines and cannabis.
