Stansted Airport Opens First Phase Of Terminal Extension

Wednesday 2nd July 2008

Yesterday (1st of July) saw the opening of the first phase of Stansted Airport's brand new terminal extension that is part of a £50 million facility investment at the airport.

The brand new terminal extension gives the airport an extra 6,000 square metres of space that will assist passengers arriving at the airport. It will include a sixth baggage reclaim area as well as additional desk space for the use of immigration control. Passengers will also be pleased to see new shops, better waiting areas and transportation facilities that will be seen later this year.

The terminal extension will also benefit from being carbon neutral as the installation of a brand new biomass heating boiler will bring the airport to a new level in such an environmentally friendly age.
