XL Airways Introduces Brand New Boeing 737-900 Aircraft
Thursday 19th June 2008Since the 29th of May passengers travelling with XL Airways have experienced the latest in aviation technology with the airline running its new Boeing 737-900's.
The new aircraft, that have a capacity of 215 passengers, are equipped with an extra 26 seats compared to their previous incarnation the 737-800. It is not just seats where the new aircraft excels as the brand new Boeing 737-900's are 2.5% more fuel efficient than the 800 variant. This is a bonus not only with regard to the environment but due to current fuel prices that are continuing to rise.
Commenting on the introduction of the new aircraft, Peter Owen the CEO of XL Airways said, "XL Airways is proud to be the first UK airline to invest in this new generation of aircraft. XL Airways has been flying out of Manchester for seven years now and, because of its continued growth in popularity, we felt it was the natural home for our new planes."
