The new service introduced by easyjet will permit passengers to buy the extra baggage space online before they make their way to their flight. Being able to do this will save passengers time at the airport as well as free up airport staff for other duties.

If you wish to make use of this service then there will be several options available to you. Any extra weight that will be required will be sold in packages that are 3kg each. You will be charged £15 for every 3kg that you buy which also saves £3 over the same ammount if it were checked in at the airport.

Passengers will still be able to pay for their excess baggage at the airport but must be aware that the discounted rates will only be available on the internet. Checking in your baggage at the airport will still be possible however you will be paying a higher charge.

In reaction to the announcement of the new service the easyjet Product Development Manager said, "Extra weight pre-payment is the latest facility easyJet has introduced to save its passengers time and money. easyJet’s industry leading website, easyJet.com, has been designed to make life easier for its customers providing the greatest range of functionality and convenience in advance, making the process of travelling through the airport much quicker and hassle free.”
