Local Residents Angry At Increased Belfast Flights

Wednesday 18th June 2008

Local residents of George Best Belfast City Airport have been angered by a proposed 3,000 extra flights every year that could be allowed to take-off and depart from the airport.

The total number of flights that would operate on an annual basis would increase to 48,000 at the airport which is the reason behind the local residents objections and the organisation Belfast City Airport Watch. The spokesperson for the group Fiona McKinley has express anger over the proposals and called on the Environment Minister Sammy Wilson to submit the proposals to a public consultation.
