When questioned about the move Norwich Airport would not elaborate on the fee apart from saying that there would be an increase from £3 to £5. The cost for children will remain unchanged at £1.

Flybe have asked the airport to re-consider the move and said that the way the situation had been handled was less than favourable. The airport originally introduced a £3 fee in April 2007 to help fund it airport expansion plans which was criticised at the time by Flybe.

The move by the airport does seem to somewhat push financial burden onto the passenger at a time when they appear to be attemptijg to balance their books, it remains to be seen if the airport will elaborate on its current comments and expand upon the reason for the new £5 charge.
