Brand New Budget Airline Jin Air Launch

Tuesday 17th June 2008

Sunday the 14th of June saw the launch of a brand new budget carrier by Korean Air named Jin Air.

There will be some unusual characteristics amongst the cabin crew as they will be wearing jeans and t-shirts and in a bid to cut costs will also clean the cabins removing the need for seperate cleaners, they will also be mainly young. The aircraft will be recognisable by a blue and violet butterfly logo and will embrace youth culture and aims for a 'fly light' approach to air travel which they feel will appeal to the youth market who look to travel cheaply and with 'no frills.'

The airline will make its first flight on the 17th of July (today) on a route from Seoul to Jeju and will begin further flights between Seoul and Busan and Busan and Jeju soon. The airline will also be looking to run flights to Japan, China and Southeast China  by the end of 2009.

It has also been stated by the airline that they will not add fuel surcharges unless fuel prices get to an unacceptable level for them to tolerate.
