Atlas Air To Cease Flying

Tuesday 17th June 2008

The freight carrier Atlas Air are to cease operating due to soaring fuel costs. The closure of the airline will mean around fifty jobs will be axed.

The firm has not been short of controversy in the past as two years ago it was alleged by The Sunday Mail that the airline was carrying bombs for Israeli military use from Prestwick Airport. Not only will flights cease but the maintenance plant they currently operate will also close.
