Gloucestershire Airport Bosses Issue Warning
Monday 16th June 2008Gloucestershire Airport bosses have announced that jobs will go and profit will be reduced unless they are permitted to push ahead with a current development.
The development that is required by the airport is the demolition of two buildings at the end of the airport runway. This will permit airport traffic to operate within guidelines laid out and is necessary for the future development of the airport. Cheltenham Borough Council has approved the plans along with Gloucester City Council who both own the airport site.
However it has been noted by Gloucester City Council that several issues relating to the plans need to be addressed. According to the council the discussions are still ongoing. As with other airports there are opponents to the development plans that believe the work would increase airport traffic and noise as well as pollution.
