Silverjet rescue deal fails
Friday 13th June 2008Silverjet Business Airline has sacked its 300-strong workforce after talks over a rescue deal broke down.
It was originally thought that Silverjet would be flying again within weeks, however, this was not to be the case.
Kingsplace (the investment firm), were marked as the new investor, howover due to unusually complex negotiations with third parties, Kingsplace could not acquire Silverjet.
Following this news, the administrators, Begbies Traynor, have been forced to make the entire Silverjet staff-force (260 pilots and cabin crew and 40 administrative staff) redundant.
