Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Introduce Fuel Surcharge

Thursday 12th June 2008

Cruise operator Fred Olsen has raised its fuel surcharge as fuel prices continue to rise.

From this moment until April 2009 there will be a £5 fuel surcharge introduced per person per night for the first two passengers that are occupying a cabin. After this there will be a £2 per person per night charge for the third and fourth cabin occupants. The maximum that will be charged is £90 on a complete cruise.

The managing director of Fred Olsen has justified the increase by explaining that the company had delayed introducing a fuel surcharge however with the price continuing to stay high in 2008 and possibly into 2009 they have had to take the action.
