The new engines will allow the airline to reduce the quantity of mono-nitrogen (NOx) that the aircraft produce. The quantity that will be reduced will be by approximately 25% which also helps to lower the CO2 emissions as well as the cost of maintaining the engines and the quantity of fuel they consume. The engines that are designated CFM56-5B will give the airline a 1% saving on fuel consumption and reduce the quantity of CO2 produced by 200 tons for every aircraft.

The CEO of Easyjet Andy Harrison has embraced the new engines and said that they would assist them in reaching their target of greener operations.
