Dubai To Build Worlds Largest Airport

Wednesday 11th June 2008

Dubai are in the planning stages of a giant airport that is set to become the worlds largest. The new structure would total the same size as Chicago and Heathrow airports combined. It would deal with 120 million passengers every year.

The Dubai hub is being touted as an airport of the future and one aim would be to shorten queing times and cut down on bureaucracy. The aim of the airport is having passengers going from kerbside to airside in 15 minutes. This is an idea that some UK airports such as Heathrow can currently only dream of.

Despite the shorter security times the airport is to be as safe as all current airports, it is due to open in 2009 if planning and construction go ahead as planned.
