Thomas Cook Set To Purchase Jet Tours
Monday 9th June 2008Holiday operator Thomas Cook are set to purchase Jet Tours from the Club Med organisation for an estimated £56 million.
The purchase would see Thomas Cook take control of the airline that annually carries 270,000 passengers and a profit of £2.7 million in 2007. If the deal goes through it would mean that the merger would create the third largest tour operator in the whole of France and would own a 10% share of the entire market.
Thomas Cook have also indicated that they are to make inroads into "strategic flying partnership opportunities" as well as ensuring that more of their Club Med sales are made. The investment the group are making does not end there however as they have alos forged an agreement with the Canadian operator TriWest Holdings that will see them take the company over for a price of C$114 million.
