Lancashire MP Calls For Army To Control Immigration And Terrorism
Friday 6th June 2008A Lancashire MP has called for a special army unit to be formed at North West airports and ports to guard the areas against illegal immigrants and terrorists.

MP Lindsey Hoyle who represents the Chorley region has sent a proposal to Prime Minister Gordon Brown for inclusion to the terrorism bill outlining the suitability the army would have for the task being proposed. He has also mentioned problems the army has had to deal with in Northern Island at border controls, and feels this grounding would make them suitable for the task.
It remains to be seen how the proposal will be met in Downing Street but it is an interesting solution to the growing problems of illegal immigration and terrorism in the UK.
