Emirates are the largest customer that Airbus Industries have for the brand new A380 and their order totals a staggering $18.8 billion. The first aircraft is due to be delivered on the 28th of July. The first A380 is due to run from Dubai to New York and well as Sydney-Auckland and Heathrow. The airline is due to release more details about the first flights including information on the interior of the aircraft during a delivery ceremony in July.

Before the end of March 2009 the airline will be operating five of the brand new aircraft and they will all be fitted with an ultra long-haul configuration that consists of 489 seats with 14 in first class, 76 in business class and 399 in economy class.

The chairman and chief executive of Emirates, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum has said that the new aircraft will be a success for the airline despite the current fuel crisis and is sure that the aircraft will ensure they meet their growth targets.
