Silverjet Could Return To The Skies

Friday 6th June 2008

The founder of the business-only carrier Silverjet is apparently attempting to bring the airline back into business amidst rumours of a possible take-over by an 'unamed airline.'

Mr. Hunt has formed an alliance with a Swiss investment group named Heritage Cie so that an offer can be made for the airline that fell just over a week ago with debts of £40 million. A bid has apparently been made by Kingplace who are an Irish backed vehicle that are backed up by Heritage have made the offer to the Silverjet administrators, Begbies Traynor.

Silverjet ceased services last week leaving 9,500 passenger stranded without flights, however if the current bid is a success it is possible that once again Silverjet may take to the skies.
