Maintenance To Possibly Cause Some Delay At Luton Airport

Friday 6th June 2008

Essential roadworks have begun at London Luton Airport on the A505 to improve the stretch that connects Luton to Hitchin - a nearby town.

The work is not expected to create much delay during the day however could result in some delays at night time when travelling to the airport. The maintenance work on Beech Hill that will be carried out using a convoy system will permit traffic to pass but at a greatly reduced speed limit - 10mph. Other areas such as Offley Hill will be completely closed with diversions in place allowing airport traffic to utilise Offley bypass, Beech Hill, Lilley Bottom, Hollybush Hill and Luton Road.

The building work is due to be completed as soon as possible and with the diversions in place it is hoped that delay will be kept to a minimum.
