BA Begin The Move To Terminal 5

British Airways today has begun the proess of transferring a percentage of its long-haul flights to Terminal Five nearly a month after it originally planned to.

The recent problems at Terminal 5, that saw BA boss Willie Walsh turn down his annual bonus due to the airlines performance, have made the move to the brand new terminal much slower than was originally anticipated and are nearly a month late. The flights scheduled for move this month will be;

  • New York
  • Beijing
  • Bangalore
  • Cairo
  • Cape Town
  • Abuja
  • Lagos
  • Phoenix

There are due to be more moves in the months of September and Novermber to the following destinations;

September

  • Washington DC
  • Dallas
  • Chicago
  • Toronto
  • Buenos Aires
  • Nairobi
  • Kuwait
  • Tel-Aviv

October

All remaining services

The airline have ensured that there are extra staff to cope with any problems but according to British Airways the move is going smoothly thus far. When the final flights are moved and the airline is settled in Terminal 5 it will be handling over 500 flights every day.
