Former Islamic Extremist Arrested On Terror Charges
Monday 2nd June 2008An Islamist named Hassan Butt who is believed to have helped 200 British Muslims train for jihad has been arrested at Manchester Airport on charges relating to terror, according to a statement by police.
The statement from police went on to say that no armed police were involved in the arrest and a single person had been arrested under terror charges. An interview with Prospect Magazine in 2005 saw some worrying comments from the British Pakistani with him saying that he would be proud to be labelled as a terrorist and felt that it would be an honour.
Mr. Butt also issued a warning on BBC2's Newsnight that any non-Islamic way of life would be a possible target for Muslim extremists in the wake of the 2007 Glasgow Airport attack.
