New Aircraft For BA London City - New York Route

A brand new service to be launched from London City Airport to New York has seen British flag carrier British Airways order two of the brand new Airbus A318 airliners at a cost over over $100 million.

The new aircraft will be used for the launch of the new London City to New York route and the total cost of the aircraft it to exceed $100 million. London City Airport is small and has a rather steep approach. The Airbus A318 is just within the limits of suitability for the airport and is capable of running the London City to New York route.
