Three Hour Delay At Aberdeen Due To Suspect Bag
Thursday 29th May 2008Passengers on a BMI flight last night encountered a security scare as the pilot refused to take-off whilst a suspicious bag was onboard the aircraft.
All passengers had to depart the aircraft and identify their baggage before the flight was permitted to take-off. The flight was already late and was originally scheduled to take-off at 19:30. It did in fact not take-off until 22:30 due to the security scare. The reason for the delay before the baggage scare was due to the Aberdeen Airport check-in system failing. This meant that all passengers had to manually check-in causing considerable delays to the flight.
It is believed that the manual baggage checking was the reason behind the baggage confusion and the reason why the bag was unaccounted for.
