Wednesday 28th May 2008

XL Airways has announced that it is to offer flights from Manchester Airport utilising its brand new Boeing 737-900 aircraft. The new flights will operate from the 29th of May. The flights will operate to some of the airlines most popular destinations such as the Canary Islands, Spain and Egypt.

The advantages of using the new 737-900 is the addition of more seats. The 737-900 has 26 more seats than the previous  model the 737-800. The advantages of the new aircraft do not end there however, as despite the extra seats the aircraft burns 2.5% less fuel on an average journey in comparison with the 737-800.

XL Airways offer a variety of flights from Manchester Airport and have been doing so since 2001. Currently they fly around 750,000 passengers annually from Manchester Airport.
