American Airlines End Stansted - New York Flights
Wednesday 28th May 2008American Airlines have annonced that they are to cease their air service running from New York to Stansted Airport as part of cutbacks due to the rise in fuel costs.
The new flight route only began in October and was aimed at getting a share of the trans-atlantic business market. It was believed that the demise of the airlines MAXjet Airways and Eos Airlines at Stansted was partly due to the entry of American Airlines into the market and less than a year later they have now pulled out.
