Bristol Airport Walkway Runs Into Trouble
Wednesday 21st May 2008Plans in place at Bristol Airport for a new walkway have run into trouble after it was agreed that full planning permission would be required.

The ruling means that the walkway will now require full planning permission which will mean that conditions could be imposed on the construction and use of it if it were to be granted permission. Local protestors will gain a sense of satisfaction from the decision and see it as a partial victory in their quest to prevent the expansion of the airport.
A spokesperson for Bristol Airport said that without the walkway passengers would have to be ferried to the aircraft in a significantly less 'green' method. The airport has been quick to try to reassure passengers that the new walkway would not create an increase in capacity but would free-up buses being used and provide a more environmentally-friendly method of moving passengers to their flights.
