Recent developments have indicated that several carriers may take legal action against BAA due to the disruption the Terminal Five debacle caused them. The boss of British Airways Willie Walsh has stated that delays in the completion of the terminal building created a lack of opportunity for BA staff to gain the necessary training needed for the opening. Walsh has declined to directly blame BAA but has confirmed that they have reserved the position of possibly demanding compensation from BAA.

Walsh went on to say that British Airways have no dealings with other suppliers at Heathrow Airport and confirmed that all dealings at the airport are with BAA. He has already confirmed that he took a risk by opening the Terminal on the 27th of March, however, felt that postponing it would only cost more money than opening the building and dealing with the problems would.
