Monday 12th May 2008The boss of Edinburgh Airport is leaving the airport. David Johnson has been in charge of Edinburgh Airport for over a year, has been headhunted and promoted to group procurement director for airport operator BAA.
The new role will include helping to sort out the issues that arose at Heathrow Terminal 5 after the opening.
Mr Johnson will be replaced at Edinburgh by Gordon Dewar (Managing Director of Glasgow Airport) , whilst a permanent replacement is found. The replacement boss will have some interesting times ahead of them.
When the new replacement takes over at Edinburgh they will have to deal with upcoming issues such as the outcome of the BAA / Competition Commission investigation, and the ongoing development of the road network around the airport location.
