Foreign Passengers not checked as they pass through T5

Monday 12th May 2008

Errors at the new Heathrow Terminal 5 resulted in a number of foreign passengers being allowed to enter the UK without a passport check.

The passengers, from British Airways flights were, in confusion, taken to a domestic arrivals desk, bypassing immigration.

The small number of passengers were taken by shuttle bus drivers to the wrong section of the terminal intended for domestic passengers only.  British Airways has since implemented procedures to ensure this does not happen again.
