Former Boss Of British Airways Raises Doubts Over Heathrow Third Runway
Wednesday 7th May 2008The former boss of British Airways, Rob Ayling has concerns over the third runway at Heathrow Airport and has described the arguments in favour as deeply flawed.
Ayling ran BA between 1996 and 2000, however referred to Heathrow as a national discrace, voicing his concerns over the arguments that had been put in place for the airports third runway. Heathrow Airport is said to have strong governmental support for the third runway, but there are questions as to whether the airport can cope with the additional traffic that it would bring.
BAA have argued that the third runway is needed due to predictions of passenger numbers increasing at the airport over the next ten to twenty years.
