Delta Airlines Begin Edinburgh Airport To New York's JFK Route

Tuesday 6th May 2008

A brand new service operating from Edinburgh Airport to New York's JFK Airport has begun.

Edinburgh Airport was Scotland's busiest airport in 2007 with some 9,047,558 passengers travelling through the Scottish hub. Edinburgh Airport is run by BAA (British Airports Authority). The airport has seen upgrading in the last few years with a new control tower and several modifications completed in 2005.

Along with Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines are the only airline that operate a flight direct to New York from Scotland apart from a service that US Airways operate from Glasgow to Philadelphia. You can also find a flight available to Florida run by Virgin Atlantic or Flyglobespan that operates from Scotland's largest city to the USA.

Any passenger that makes use of this new route will then have thirty six connecting flights at their disposal that fly to the Carribean and Latin America to name but a few. The new route is sure to be popular amongst Scottish residents especially due to the diverse range of connecting flight available to them.
