The aircraft, that was bound for Nottingham, became lodged in the mud as the aircraft was preparing to take-off. The aircraft partially obstructed the airport runway at Lodz Airport meaning that it had to be closed to all other air traffic. The incident took place at noon local time and airport technicians were able to pull the aircraft back onto the runway after a period of time.

Ryanair are said to be investigating the incident and confirmed that the front nose wheel had indeed become stuck in the grass/mud at the side of the runway. The aircraft is said to be undamaged after the incident and was turning around at the end of the runway preparing to take-off. The passengers onboard were all taken from the aircraft and were taken by bus back to the airport terminal building.

Some questions will need to be asked about the incident such as why the front wheel was on the grass at the end of the runway. Unlike the actual runway this is not clean and debris free so running onto the grass could risk a tyre puncture.
