Blackpool International Airport Receive Environmental Award
Thursday 6th December 2007Blackpool International Airport has received an environmental award for its online carbon calculator as well as the operation of its Blackpool Environmental Action Team (BEAT). The nomination for the award was put forward by the public and the airport was given the award at an awards ceremony at the Solaris Centre on the 23rd November 2007.
The director of operations was presented with the award and commented, "There is growing interest in the use of voluntary carbon offset schemes to address and raise awareness of climate change. Blackpool International Airport has linked up with co2balance.com to offer our passengers the opportunity to offset the greenhouse gas emissions of their flights through a payment to schemes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the same amount.
These projects include a tree planting scheme on a piece of woodland in Cumbria'. You too can balance your carbon footprint using the same organisation as Blackpool Airport namely co2balance.com which is the favoured organisation with Compare Airport Parking. Why not visit out Carbon Offset page and learn about offsetting your carbon emissions for your next journey.
