Scare For Passengers After Two Aborted Landings At Edinburgh Airport
Wednesday 30th April 2008Passengers on a flyglobespan flight have spoken of crying and being terrified as the aircraft they were on had to make two attempts to land on the Edinburgh Airport second runway as the pilot feared that the runway he was attempting to land on was not safe.
The second runway at Edinburgh Airport that was being used for the landings lacked a landing guidance system and the visability was also poor making the pilot doubt the landing he was about to make. Passengers on the flight have spoken of the terror with the aircraft having to abort landing twice, and some have spoken of people in the aircraft crying out in fear at what was happening.
Flyglobespan has apologised to passengers for the problems when landing and stated that safety is always their primary concern, which explains the pilots actions in ensuring the runway was completely safe for landing.
