Arrest During New Aircraft Flight
Wednesday 30th April 2008The launch by Flybe of a new aircraft has been spoilt by a passenger being arrested for drunken behaviour and causing a disturbance.
The man arrested was a foreign fisherman and he was arrested by police when the flight arrived at London Gatwick Airport. The incident, whilst airborne, required the aircraft to hold above Gatwick Airport for twenty minutes whilst the disturbance was brough under control.
The passenger Raimonds Galins, 38 has admitted the charges against him and was fined £1000 for breach of the peace. The delay due to Galins behaviour caused delays to his flight as well as having a knock-on effect for other flights. The disturbance spoiled the launch of the new Flybe Embraer 195 jet (above) which has been constructed in Brazil.
