Flybe Place Huge Order For New Aircraft
Monday 28th April 2008The no-frills airline Flybe that were previously known as British European have placed a large order for new aircraft at a total cost of £520 million.
The new aircraft order which has been made from Canadian manafacturer Bombardier Aerospace consists of 17 orders for the Q400 turboprop aircraft with a further option on 20 of the new aircraft. They expect to receive the first of their aircraft in June 2008 with the rest arriving between 2008 and 2011.
The aircraft will be based in a variety of locations such as Belfast City Airport, Birmingham Airport, Southampton Airport, London City Airport and some in the Channel Islands. The new aircraft should help the airline significantly increase its revenue and standing in the aviation market.
