Bristol Airport Tighten Security Procedures For Vehicles

Wednesday 23rd April 2008

Bristol Airport forecourt is to close to all forms of transport even taxis and buses in an attempt to prevent a repeat of the incident recently experienced at Glasgow Airport. Currently a taxi or a bus can drop a passenger off outside the airport terminal building which concerns airport staff that this could be exploited for a terrorist attack. This is now being changed to prevent this ever occuring.

It will be two years until the process is 100% complete which will then mean that no vehicles will be allowed outside the terminal under any circumstances. It is also believed that a wider exclusion zone will also be implemented
