BA To Suspend Terminal 5 Move
Friday 11th April 2008BA have announced that they are to postpone their movement of the majority of their long haul flights to Terminal 5 due to issues at the brand new terminal not being resolved.
This is in contrast to the original plans that were in place for the movement of the majority of long haul flights by the 30th of April. Due to the recent disruption at the terminal this now means that this will cease to be possible. It is believed that the delay will allow BA to gain much needed time to sort out the problems that have beset terminal 5.
The move is sure to not please other airlines that would have been moving as a result of the British Airways re-location and is sure to create some problems at the airport. BA chief Willie Walsh and chief executive Colin Matthews are both believed to be regretting the hold-up however wish to ensure the security and efficiency of Terminal 5 before more demand is placed on the terminal infastructure.
