Fine For Showing Bottom

A fine of £3,000 has been made for an oil worker who decided to walk up and down the isle of an aircraft showing his buttocks to all passengers.

Ryan Gunn, 35 was flying from Aberdeen to Las Palmas on a chartered flight by his employer when the incident took place. Gunn has admitted dropping his trousers and exposing his buttocks to the passengers on the flight. A fellow-passenger Hugh MacLeod, 23 has admitted to being drunk on the flight and and was given a £1,500 fine.

The drunken incident happened on a Boeing 737 in November 2007  which had been chartered by the workers company Petrolia Drilling. Other members of the company were also arrested for the disturbance, they were, Ryan Massie, 24, of Potterton, Aberdeenshire, Gary Moar, 40, of Thurso, Caithness, Craig Cameron, 33, of Inverness, as well as Andrew Morrisey, 29, of Bodnant, Wales.

The men were arrested when they arrived at Aberdeen Airport as the captain had sent a message ahead for the authorities to meet the aircraft when it arrived due to the disturbance. Gunn is said to be thoroughly ashamed of his conduct on the flight. His collegue Craig Cameron is also to be charged with taking hold of a member of the cabin crew and touching her leg. The men have pleaded not guilty.
