British Airways Deciding On Next Stage Of Move
Wednesday 2nd April 2008
British Airways are re-thinking their plans for moving their remaining flights at Heathrow to Terminal 5.
The original plan had been for another 20% of flights to move to the terminal from terminal 4 however due to the extensive problems experienced at terminal 5 this may now not be the best idea. The flights that were due to be moved were ones that fly to New York, Washington, Delhi and Cape Town. A spokesperson for BA said “It’s something that we’re looking at, as the airline attempts to reunite 19,000 bags with their owners.
It is fair to assume that the daunting process of sorting 19,000 bags both at Heathrow, Gatwick and in Milan is sure to be one of BA's main priorities. However pressure from airlines such as Air France who are directly affected regarding the terminal changes if BA does not move the next stage of their services from terminal 4 is sure to play a part in any decision they make.
