Trading Standards have uncovered faulty scales at London Gatwick Airport that were falsely indicating that passengers bags were overweight. The problems with the scales was brought to the attention of Trading Standards after a passenger complained that her home scales gave a very different reading to the airport ones. When the scales and several others were tested it was found that staff had not been reseting them correctly and thus passengers had been overcharged.
