Yoko Ono To Launch New Transatlantic Flight
Tuesday 1st April 2008Yoko Ono is to arrive at Liverpool John Lennon Airport today in order to participate in the celebrations of the first transatlantic flight from the airport.
Ono is due to officially launch the brand new service to JFK Airport which is expected to carry thousands of passengers to New York. Liverpool JLA spokesperson Robin Tudor said, "We are delighted at the launch of this new regular service to New York. The service is being marketed both here and in the US. The millions of people who already use JFK will get use to seeing the name Liverpool JLA on the destination board, and that alone will attract attention."
The new flight route is a direct result of the new Open Skies rule meaning that restrictions that had been placed on certain airlines running certain routes has now been lifted.
